SMART Partners with Earth 911

SMART is pleased to announce our newest strategic alliance partnership with Earth 911. SMART and Earth 911 will work in tandem to promote textile recycling and our respective organizations. Earth 911 will provide SMART with a recycling widget to be placed on our website. The recycling widget is a searchable database that the public can use to search for recycling centers. SMART will provide Earth 911 with locations for SMART member companies that accept donations from the public as well as donation box locations. Additionally, SMART members, who accept public donations, will all be listed in the Earth 911 searchable directory.

Hundreds of local government and non-profit organizations refer people to the Earth911 Directory when asked where they should take their items for recycling or proper disposal. The inclusion of SMART members in this directory will promote our individual members as much as it promotes textile recycling.

Though recycling is an extremely locally focused activity, Earth911 presents local recycling information on a national platform and that is why people across the country looking to recycle more in their communities each year use Earth911.com. Connecting these consumers to resources is what Earth911 does best, and has earned Earth911 consistent national media attention in publications including: USA Today, Yahoo.com, The Huffington Post, Consumer Reports, The New York Times and many more.

“SMART is working diligently to increase the visibility of our association and industry,” said Jackie King, SMART Executive Director. “This partnership with Earth 911 will help us extend our reach and deliver our message more effectively to the public, media and government agencies.”

Earth911 is the nationally recognized company behind Earth911.com, the award-winning Web site. With 4.5 million visitors annually, Earth911.com creates a powerful, local call-to-action, through its Recycling Directory and targeted editorial content. Founded in 1991 as a hot line for recycling, Earth911 continues its legacy of recycling and disposal information by offering the nation’s most comprehensive Recycling Location and Program Directory.
