SMART 2006-2007 COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS

1. EXECUTIVE -- Shall act on behalf of the Board
of Directors between meetings on matters requiring immediate attention
or urgent dispatch. (Appointed by the bylaws and president).

Ed Freeman, Immediate Past President Bob Travis, Sunny Hull, Janet
Tourtellot, and Hassan Hamdani
2. FINANCE -- The Finance Committee monitors
the entire financial process of SMART, paying close attention to
revenues, receivables due the association, the investments and the
budgeting process. The association's treasurer chairs the Committee.

3. NOMINATING -- On or before the first full
day of each annual meeting, the Nominating Committee shall submit
to the membership, nominations for officers and directors.
Mission--The mission of the SMART Nominating Committee
is to present a slate of leadership to the Association that promotes
the objectives of the Association and represents the diversity found
in our industry

4. MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT-- This committee
will work closely with the associations leadership and committee
chairs to involve both new members and regular members who have
not been involved in association. William Schapiro and Farokh Ghadially

5. CONVENTION CONTINUING EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE--The
purpose of the Convention Committee is to review and recommend general
policies and procedures for SMART Conventions and regional meetings;
to review the bids and make site recommendations to the association's
board of directors; to pursue the ongoing review and revision of
the SMART's procedures; to work with and assist staff in supporting
association activities; and to serve as a repository of institutional
memory and collective experience.

6. LONG RANGE PLANNING -- Works within a process
to determine where the association is now, and what is needed to
meet the future needs of the membership.

of state, local, and federal agencies as it relates issues involving
disposability of wipers and other textile and paper products.
