Committees

EXECUTIVE
Shall act on behalf of the Board of Directors between board meetings on matters requiring immediate attention. Members: Larry Groipen, Lou Buty, Elliot Sheftel, Carren Kay and Jackie King.

FINANCE
The Finance Committee monitors the entire financial process of SMART, paying close attention to revenues, receivables due the association, the investments and the budgeting process. The association's treasurer chairs the Committee. Members: Elliot Sheftel, Carren Kay, Lynne Warshaw, Colleen Cole, Larry Groipen, David Blum and Jackie King.

NOMINATING
The mission of the SMART Nominating Committee is to present a slate of leadership to the Association that promotes the objectives of the Association and represents the diversity found in our industry Chair: Carren Kay, Immediate Past President.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
This committee will work closely with the association’s leadership and committee chairs to develop membership benefits and services that attract and retain members. Members: Sunny Khatra, Jeff Pearl, Idress Hussain, Lou Buty, Sandy Woycke, Ellen Tobin, Suhki Kang and Kaymie Thompson Owen.

CONVENTION CONTINUING EDUCATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Convention Committee is to develop the schedule and meeting content for the annual convention and regional meetings. The committee also recommends sites and locations for future events. Members: Sandy Woycke, Lee Benovitz, Colleen Cole, Robert Goode, Larry Groipen, Carren Kay, Ellen Tobin, Eric Warshaw and Kaymie Thompson Owen.

STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE
This committee works to analyze how the current association serves the members and meets future needs. Members: Lou Buty, Larry Groipen, Sunny Khatra, Jeff Pearl, Eric Stubin and Jackie King.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
This committee guides the direction of our government affairs initiatives and oversees the work of the government affairs consultant. Members: Bill Schapiro, John Paben, Eric Warshaw, Bill Wright, Jackie King and Jessica Franken, SMART Government Affairs Consultant.

PUBLIC RELATIONS
This committee guides public relations initiatives. Members: Lou Buty, Larry Groipen, Idress Hussain, Eric Stubin, Jackie King and Kaymie Thompson Owen.

WEBSITE
This committee oversees the SMART website. Members: Jeff Pearl, Jeremy Berg, Justin Marks, Justin Woycke, Valerie Sweeney and Kaymie Thompson Owen.

SMARTWomen
This group provides a forum for women affiliated with the association the opportunity to network and socialize. Members: Shari Rozansky, Sunny Stubin, Sandy Woycke, Ellen Tobin, Lynne Warshaw and Kaymie Thompson Owen.
